Telegram will soon enable global search by hashtags, as announced by founder Pavel Durov. The feature will be available this month and will allow users to find all public feeds that have used a particular hashtag. Previously, only posts within a single channel were visible.
This innovation will give users more opportunities to discover new content and authors a wider reach. This moves Telegram closer to becoming a fully-fledged social media platform.
