Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence has been temporarily banned from generating images of humans after it generated inappropriate images, such as of black men in German Wehrmacht uniforms from the Second World War, which sparked backlash and ridicule. The incident sparked questions about the accuracy and sensitivity of the AI in generating historical images, and prompted Google to temporarily restrict the feature in Gemini 1.5 to avoid further controversy.
