Study: Facebook’s Algorithm Boosts AI-Generated Content

A study from the Stanford Internet Observatory revealed that Facebook’s algorithms actively promote AI-generated content, which is often managed by scammers. Such content, created using tools such as DALL-E or Midjourney, can be extremely engaging and sometimes even photorealistic. As a result, this content easily reaches millions of users and generates high levels of online engagement. Researchers warn of the risk that misinformation disseminated in this way may have adverse consequences for political discourse and security, including endangering children and disseminating intimate content without consent.
