Telegram plans to introduce a “Fact-Checking feature,” which was discovered in the source code of the beta version of the Android app. Similar to the Community Notes feature on X/Twitter, which allows users to add notes, Telegram, however, wants to involve specialized agencies in the verification process.
Governments will be able to designate agencies to work with Telegram to verify information. These agencies will add explanatory information to the reports, making it visible which agency has carried out the verification.
