How Much Time Do US Adults Spend on Social Media by Age Group?

The chart shows how many minutes per day, on average, US adults spend on different social platforms by age group. TikTok clearly leads among all age groups, with the youngest users aged 18-24 spending the most time on it (76 minutes per day). Instagram is the second most popular among younger age groups, but its use declines as age increases.

Conversely, Facebook has its largest presence among older users, with people aged 55-64 spending the most time on it (45 minutes per day). Snapchat holds its own especially among younger users, but its popularity declines with age. Total minutes suggest that younger generations are spending more time per day on social media than older generations.
